“One LED was not working on a brand new product out of the package. Which means I cannot tell the difference between "9" and "3" on the 2nd digit. Contacted Customer Service and have not received any response.”
“I've had this for a few weeks now and it's a lot of fun, great for parties. Though I wonder about it's accuracy. After my first vodka tonic I blew a .21, and it was only single. So I had some water and retested and blew a .04, which may have been more accurate. After my third (second 2 were doubles) with dinner I figured I needed to test after a glass of water, I blew .00. A friend did the same and showed nothing. But another friend who just put his beer down blew .11
I would recommend this company but probably not this product”
“Bought this a couple months ago. The only reading I ever get is "FL", over and over. I was actually very excited about using with my friends. Disappointed about it being a dud :(”
“My phone recently upgraded from Android 6 to Android 7. It broke the communication with the 2 Bactrack Mobile Pro units I have. Needless to say, after buying 2 Mobile Pro units, I was not happy. I had some back and forth with customer service and finally Joshua at Bactrack very kindly sent me one of these units I installed the Mobile app on my tablet and so was able to test this version against 2 of the more expensive Pro units. The Pro units have a sensor with better technology. After multiple tests the readings on this unit were very comparable to the readings of the Pro units. IMHO this unit is reliable and can be trusted if used as instructed. It is also, althoug not as accurate, much smaller, faster, and easier to use than the Mobile Pro version. A great return on your dollars!”
“I bought three of these over a year ago and gave them as gifts. I kept one for myself and I have used it regularly and it works perfectly. An amazing product at a very affordable price.”
“I ordered the BACtrack Keychain because I was required by the court (DUI) to have an interlock device in stalled in my car for one year (one of those breathalyzer/starter gadgets). I'd heard it was a good idea to do a "pre-blow" into a 3rd party BAC device, to make sure something you ate or drank doesn't result in a false positive. This is critical, because the info of every "blow" is sent to a data base via a cell-phone type cadet also installed. So, failure to be able to start due to a positive BAC is bad, resulting in extended probation periods, more fines, or an increase in sentence (i.e. more jail time, etc...).
After reading a few reviews (here, in fact) about the Keychain not being so accurate and also short lived before the need for recalibration (also short battery life), I immediately order the BACtrack S80 Pro (long battery life, only yearly calibrations). I've found the S80 to be VERY accurate. The BACtrack Keychain consistently reads inaccurately high BAC. Granted its super cheap and uses a different technology than the S80 and/or police issued breathylizers.
So, in conclusion... the BACtrack Keychain is a really cool idea. Great form factor, and ridiculously inexpensive. However, if your "freedom" depends on an accurate BAC pre-blow, go with the BACtrack S80 Pro. I keep the Keychain version in the same nice S80 case it came with, but rarely use it. Sometimes I do, but only to confirm its always a higher reading than the S80.
All that said, someone who does not have any legal issues, who just wanted convenient way to find their BAC before leaving a party or a restaurant to drive, the Keychain might be a perfect fit.
Cheers ya'll!”
