“I saw this on the news and felt it would be good to have on occasion. It was easy to set up and I feel it will be a valuable tool. It might seem like a breeze to blow into the breathalizer for 5 seconds, but at my age I had to really concentrate to exhale for the right amount of time or I got an error message.”
“Instructions state you can insert mouthpiece "a few centimeters". It actually can only go in a few milimeters. Also, the unit doesn't fit in the case with the mouthpiece inserted; it's not clear whether the unit is designed for constant removal/insertion of the mouthpiece.”
“I've had the Trace for about a month now, and overall it's a nice looking and easy to use device, but I'm not real sure of it's accuracy.
I have nothing to test it against, but the few times I've used it out of curiosity it had said I'm under the legal limit of .08. I don't feel I was anywhere within safe limits to get behind the wheel with it reading only .05 and . 072. For the price, I'm a little disappointed because I feel I'm still left to my own judgement since I don't know if I trust this device.”
