“I purchased a size 4 in the first instance but found these to be exceptionally big so upon the advice given when I phoned I was advised to buy the size 3 as they insisted these would fit perfectly,I personally felt nervous about going down a full size but went with the advice given When I tried the size 3 I found it very hard to get my foot past the ankle , when I eventually did get them on the fit felt snug . I rang customer service again and was advised as I was concerned about getting the boots on /off but was advised to keep trying them around the house as they would eventually give ...did as advised and they did give so I was able to get them on/off with ease and therefore after a few days began to wear them outside. Unfortunately the boots rubbed so much even though I had wore them in the house to break them in and caused very bad blistering to the backs of my heels . I rang customer service again and they asked me to send photos of the boots and then armed myself with comfort plasters and vaseline and kept on wearing them as much as I could bear .I was sent a reply to my email and more advice about how to break boots in .....of which , being a grown adult of some 50 years found to be quite condescending and told that they could see nothing wrong with the boots. I have now persevered with these boots for about a month , even putting them into the freezer with plastic bags full of water to stretch them( a method found on you tube) which worked wonders !) and now eventually have broken them in . I put my own insoles in and I will say that I am now happy with the boots ! They are warm and waterproof which is exactly what I was needing for muddy dog walks . All in all I would recommend these boots and it is great to actually be able to speak to a person in customer service but I can't understand why they don't do half sizing and feel that I would definitely have saved myself a whole load of blisters and discomfort if a 3 1/2 would have been available. I would be wary if you are in between sizes of purchasing but they are fabulous boots for the right size foot”

“Brilliant quality, immediately comfortable, very robust and sturdy construction. Walked 4 miles straight away in wet heavy ground. A good grip for the ice too. Next day 3.5 miles just as good. I am a 3.5 and ordered a 3 which fit well but would be too tight if I liked thick socks and 4 would be too long. Easy to get on and off. I want them to stay good so wax them at least once a week. They feel as though they will last for years. My Boots normally last for two years as I walk about 1000 miles a year in them. Interesting to see.”

“Ordered the Quebec waterproof in brown size 3/36. I’m 5ft1, and struggle to find long boots that fit round the calves; having a shorter leg this is almost impossible; these boots fit absolutely perfectly and I’m positive they would have been perfect for walking my dog in all weathers. Unfortunately the colour was not the same as in the online photos; my boots are a very dark brown, not what I was wanting. I appreciate this can be down to the leather being used at the time of manufacture but they are not cheap boots so I want them to be the right colour for me, this is the only reason why I am returning them. I may order some again in the future after getting advice about the shade of leather being used for the current batch in stock.”

“Lovely quality boots. I am normally size 4 but had to exchange these (very easy process) for size 3. Fit is unisex/men's, with standard width forefoot and roomy heel box so my heel lifts when I'm walking (women's specific boots have a slimmer heel area; for ref, my job is reviewing outdoor clothing and equipment). They improve with a moulded footbed. I wanted boots to move between house and workshop, and drive to the stables where I switch them for wellies, so they do that job well as an accurate fit isn't necessary. I wouldn't go hiking in them though, as some people appear to!!”
