“What I like is that the mat has a good/better size, compared to the regular sized exercise mat (see photo). You can really do compound exercises (squats, deadlifts, etc.) without stepping off the mat. Also, I use the mat on a carpet floor and it does not slip, which I am happy about.However, I use the exercise mat mostly for my HIIT workouts, which (generally) involve lots of squat jumps, burpees, speed jogs, etc. My regular exercise mat is a bit thicker than 1cm, and can take the blows of my jumps (i.e. mutes the sound) pretty well. The puzzle exercise mat is a bit less thick (see photo) and therefore mutes the sound less, unfortunately. In addition, the puzzle pieces tend to loosen when I do a HIIT workout on the mat, which is also undesirable.Overall, I think the mat is a good purchase when you want to relatively more “stationary” exercises or just want to use it as mat underneath your gym equipment. It is not really suitable for fast-movement exercises as it does not mute sound as well.”
