TK710STi 4K 3200lm BenQ Casual Gaming Projector Reviews

4.4 Rating 13 Reviews
Very happy that I waited and went with a Short Throw that had a laser. The projector features allowed me to mount this back far enough and zoom out the display so that it could work for my golf simulator. Now I feel like I'm future proof witha 4K projector and I could mount it back far enough that I'm not looking at the actual projector when swinging a club. Great product.

This projector would be perfect if it had bluetooth connection for an external speaker.

I purchased this for my golf simulator. I run it at 4k using my high-end gaming pc. I looked at so many options but only a handful had the specs I was wanting, which was 4k, over 3,000 lumens, short throw, and a reasonable price point which in my mind was under $3k. This projector met all of those needs plus being a laser instead of a bulb. I thought about the outgoing 700sti but for not much more money it made sense to get this slightly brighter, laser, and brand new version. It displays my golf simulator super well in 4k at just under 14 feet wide. It’s exactly what I was hoping for.

I got this for a golf simulator. It is very impressive and there really is nothing negative I could say at the moment. I wish it looked just as good in broad daylight as in the dark, but no projector has the lumens to accomplish that.

This projector isn't all it's cracked up to be. The zoom and focus wheels are too small and tend to "stick" while trying to adjust them. The end result is that adjusting the focus is a pain in the rear. The tiny focus wheel makes it hard to do fine adjustments, while the fact that the assembly sticks means you can't do it smoothly and your focus ends up jumping around while you're trying to dial it in. Furthermore, the image tends to be blurry in some areas, but not others, which is a headache to deal with especially when there is text on the screen and using the projector as a computer monitor. Some areas are perfectly readable, while others are not. This is generally not as noticable with regards to images, but becomes REALLY obvious with text. It's motly noticable in the top center of the screen, vs the bottom corners. This is most likely caused by a flaw in the lens design or manufacture. Distance from screen to center of the lense and all.. A proper lense would have accounted for this. As it is, expect to develop a headache wile reading text that isn't in the center of the screen and properly focused. The projector is unable to be installed on a shelf behind and above the seating area as advertised, it must be ceiling mounted and upside down. Perhaps this will be fixed in a firmware update, but as of now, I have found no setting that allows me to install this projector on a shelf like my old one. Evenutally, if this can not be corrected and I can't get the focus issues sorted, I will most likely return this and buy a different projector as this one does not function as advertised. The projector comes with a module that you have to install yourself. Every time it turns on, if you haven't got the module installed, it gives you an annoying popup with no obvious way to turn it off permanantly and will tell you to install the module. I don't want it, I don't want to deal with it, but I finally caved and took the projector apart and put the dumb thing in. Why am I the one doing final assemby on a $2K projector? Install the module yourselves or let me shut the notification off... For good. Aside from these two main issues, the projector lights up fairly quickly, is extremely quiet, and is very compact. It has very good light output, the 4k looks good, and it doesn't have a bunch of ghosting in fast paced videogames... I really wanted to like this projector a lot more than I do, but as it is? I'll probably never buy another BenQ product again. Overpromised, underdelivered...

Edit: Love the projector, don't love them sending me emails saying they'll send me an amazon gift card in exchange for taking the time to leave a review and taking a survey that they don't following through with. I did both (review and survey) and they seem to have forgotten the amazon gift card in both cases. No way to get a hold of them to ask about it. The short throw on this projector is amazing. I'm currently on a 120" screen about 7 feet away but could easily go to a 150" screen just by moving it back a tiny bit furhter. Since it's a laser projector, it boots right up at full brightness so you aren't waiting for the bulb to warm up like on the DLPs. I play games more often than watch movies and the picture quality and brightness are great. There are even pre-made settings for different type of game mods (FPS, RPG, etc.) from a button on the remote. The extra corner adjustments on this model made the picture fit exactly within the screen frame I have, which was not possible with my previous projector.
