“Ive only used the SunArmor-5 for less than a year and its already falling apart. The top coat of the cover is super thin now and my car is covered with dust. My classic car now has the imprint from the underside of the cover on my paint. Anytime I remove the cover, it has so much dust that it spreads all over the whole car making a huge dust mess all over the windows”
“I got this cover back in late November 2021, and within 7 months the cover started dusting. It was a nightmare. It was goodbye to having a clean car, since every time I put the cover on my recently cleaned car, it would be covered in white dust all throughout. Not worth the pain. I live in Los Angeles, so it's not like the cover was subjected to insane weather conditions. I do not recommend this!”
“This is our first SunArmor-5 cover for our Prius. We have had it on the car for about 3 months and it covers the car with dust. Ever since we put it on the car, the car cover weave has been filled with dust. I thought that if we shook it out, the dust problem would be taken car of. But, no. The weave of the cover continues to bleed copious amounts of dust, which comes off in clouds when the cover is being removed. The dust also bleeds on to the car which has to be removed each time the cover comes off. Never had problems with the other car covers that we have purchased from Cal Car Cover. This new SunArmor-5 cover appears to be a lemon”
“I bought many Stormweave covers over the years and have been very happy with them, but they are no longer available, so I tried the SunArmor-5, as my main goal is UV protection. After just 3 months in daily southern California sun, the top layer/coating is disintegrating and turning to fine dust which penetrates the cover, gets all over my car, and creates dust clouds whenever I remove the cover. I won't put it in my car trunk because it would create a huge mess. Other than that, it's constructed well and fits well, but the dust issue is a serious defect. I really wanted to like this cover, but I can't recommend it in its current form. I'll be returning it for a different type of cover.”
“Cal Covers are the best. I believe this is my third. I use them On my race cars and the covers perform as advertised. I have had no problems with this cover and would highly recommend them to all. Thanks Willy”
“Unfortunately, when I ordered this cover, I ordered the wrong year. The dimensions are almost the same so, the cover fits like a glove. It is lightweight and appears to be well-made. I have ordered covers from them before, and they always deliver. Great product, I will order from them in the future but, I will double check the year I select. Lastly, I purchased this cover as my truck sits outside so I just want to preserve the paint the best I can.”
“Turning to dust - which is probably bad to inhale as I take the cover on and off - I have an email into the company. I would not buy this product unless they have addressed this issue.”
