“I bought this canvas rug thinking it was going to be great quality after reading Caribu's article on canvas rugs. My horse is a hot horse, so I was wanting to switch her over to canvas. I own many Caribu rugs (mesh, cottons, synthetics) and they have all been fantastic. After only a few uses this rug soaks through and my horse is completely saturated underneath in consistent light rain. It's fine for a wind block, but I can't use it in wet weather, which defeats the intention of why I bought it.”

This rug only made about 4 weeks before it had major rips and was unusable. The ripstop canvas was not very strong and I was told that the 17oz rug would be better.

“I bought this rug for one of our retirees who has cushings, I like to rug them even though they have a long shaggy coat, they still feel the cold and deserve to have a rug just like any other horse and I find not clipping them in winter an asset to be honest. But then you have rugs that can cook them and like any hot horse ,they are miserable.
I love the caribu canvas rugs you cannot beat them on any level, this boy went from being miserable in a so called breathable rug to this 20 oz rug ,well he's so happy and comfortable in it there's a new found spring in his step, having that overnight change in his positive emotion was worth every penny which I can concur with most reviews that I'm so relieved about the prices and just love a good old sale. Happy horse , happy me.
I also fit the rug to the horse and then lightly hose them down to mould and weatherproof them right from the get go . So easy and I have peace of mind.
What I really would wish is that the standard rug was available in the 17 oz.”
