“My husband is a GP and as of July 2020, received his final cancer treatment for renal cell carcinoma. Before vaccination, and even now no oncologist can say how long your immunity is compromised after treatment. I was very pleased that when my husband returned to work full time, doctors were almost entirely doing patient appointments over the phone unless absolutely necessary. I was also surprised that doctors wear these very thin, very papery masks at work. My husband goes to work and comes right home. I avoid going out as much as possible, about twice a week. During a conversation with my plumber of all people I was told about FFP3 masks. Then, I saw a medical report from back in America where I’m originally from that was heavily recommending FFP3 for medical staff because of their high protection value. I was able to easily obtain the masks at first but when I went to place my next order, I’d found the “super online retail everything place” (no name, but we’ve all bought from them). The other masks they’d called FFP3/N99 looked cheap with stapled straps and lacked the double straps that are adjustable. I ordered the best reviewed masks but was horribly underwhelmed. I used one because I didn’t have any others. It wasn’t valved but had pin holes in the top of the mask which apparently were to help glasses from fogging up. The masks were super thin and to be honest, they didn’t feel safe. I came home and searched high and low on the internet for the masks like I had first bought from the super retail site and found them absolutely nowhere. I got creative with search terms. THANKFULLY I landed on your site and there they were, my masks. Not not exactly the same but they had all of the requirements of an FFP3 mask. I didn’t hesitate and purchased ten
The wide range of delivery options was excellent, for that order I didn’t have anything but some cute masks, but nothing to get through the Scottish explosion of the Delta variant so I opted for next day delivery and even in the north of Scotland they came next day. Brilliant. I inspected the masks and found they seemed well made, no stapled on straps, they felt the full depth of necessary layers, had double straps that were adjustable and the nose clamp was well padded and soft.
I must say while I’m happy to wear an FFP3 mask, they are cumbersome. The layers make them quite warm and when the nose clip is folded properly to create a “nothing’s getting in” effect and with straps adjusted so the mask has no gaps and is properly on they do feel a lot to wear. That said several people have asked me about them and were planning to order. The masks aren’t cheap but the security and safety I feel wearing a well fitting FFP3 mask is worth the extra weight and especially in a warm summer, they warm up inside fairly quickly. That said, I don’t go out often and when I do it’s very limited and until I feel safe, I am happy to say they’re worth the extra cost and not so cutesy appearance, I’ll even tolerate the heat inside if it keeps me and those I love safer. They are single use only, please don’t be silly like I’ve read others do in reviews of masks elsewhere and cut the mask after use to verify the layers. You could be releasing COVID-19 particles that were absorbed by the mask and putting yourself at risk. I personally wouldn’t recommend these to anyone with difficulty breathing. The minimum amount of layers recommended for good coverage is 2, not sheer, not stretchy lycra type material. But if you can handle it, unless you have a professional space suit type ppe to wear out and about this is as safe a mask as possible. And you can wear the cute mask over them.”
“Good masks. The bands round the back pf your keep the mask firmly against your skin without leaving your face bruised. And there's more room to breathe and speak in that the standard dental hygienist style masks you see on everyone else.
A valuable find as I suspect we'll be masking up for a year or three yet.”
