“This was an easy pattern to follow and it fitted together like a dream. Unfortunately the medium size was huge on my size 12 frame. I passed it on to my broader shouldered and much taller daughter. It looked great on her and I shall make it again in a small for myself.”
“Having never made anything other than a wonky cushion, I was persuaded by a friend that I could make an item of clothing. I chose this dress pattern, as it said it was for a beginner and I knew it was a style that would suit me. There is no doubt that I made mistakes, but it was that straightforward I made two versions in the space of a week whilst working full time! I am a UK 14, and despite the size chart indicating that I needed a size large I followed the advice of another sewist on Instagram and made both versions in size small. I used quite firm fabrics (denim and broderie anglais) and they would have looked wrong in a bigger size. My next attempt will be in linen, and I regret having cut the pattern rather than tracing it as I would have made that slightly larger as it's more drapey.”
