“Loved receiving my marble mortar with wooden pestle, after having learnt how to make pesto in Monterosso, Italy.
My “teacher” stressed that I must use a wooden pestle so the basil wasn’t damaged .
My first attempt to make the pesto worked really well so I sent photos of my purchased mortar and pestle and also of my pesto back to Italy to prove I had followed the recipe properly.
Although the mortar is heavy, it is easy to hold, use and clean.”
