“Another good figure from PNSO. He has a more 'nobbly' appearance than my other stegosaurs; the scales and osteoderms are visble, but I think this works. His body is green / light brown and the plates graduate from orange to dark brown. It looks natural and plausible, and complements some of my other Stegosaurs. The plates & spikes look sharp but are quite soft, along with his shoulder spikes. He fits in and displays well with my other PNSO & HLG Stegosaurs.”

“Looked at from above, Qichuan is structured on a beautiful S-curve. Evidently he's strolling along, not much bothered by predators, perhaps because of the two amazingly sharp, curved spikes protruding from each shoulder. Incidentally, if you were thinking of giving this model to a small child, the spikes really ARE sharp. Might be wiser to wait until they're a bit older. The child, not the dinosaur. Tuojiangosaurus is a Chinese stegosaur; the most heavily armoured ever found, I believe. His dual rows of plates down his spine are also quite spiky. When it comes to the thagomizer (the spikes on the tail!), they're capable of puncturing the unwary. I feel this does help us to understand quite how damgerous this herbivore dinosaur would have been in life . . . PNSO have painted him countershaded, with a yellowish underside, and a greyish-green top. His skin shows hard nodules covering him everywhere vulnerable. He looks back, one front foot lifted, as if he has heard something and paused. Like so many PNSO models, the behaviour of the dinosaur is implied with skill. The rows of nodules down his flanks are painted orange, and the outside of his limbs has a green tinge. I took a star off just because I'm sick of seeing this green-and-orange colour scheme on stegosaurus-like dinosaurs. Apart from that, Qichuan has another of the wonderful expressions that PNSO produce on their dinosaurs. His small muzzle is firmly shut, and he regards us with narrowed yellow eyes. He may well be remarkable for his armour, but it's the long, sharp spikes that impress me.”
