“I have problems with not being able to put a lot of pressure on the rotary cutter and can often have fabrics that don't cut through. I still need to put a lot of pressure on the Creative Grids Rotary Cutter. It does cut well when I apply the pressure. I am not fond of the button to open and close the blade it is quite hard to use.
Just to give you some idea, I can't use Olfa with a Stripology Ruler, I tried a Martinelli with the Stripology Ruler and that does not cut for me, not even one layer, yet a lot of quilters love it with the Stripology Ruler. I like Fiskar for other cutting but they have a shallow blade for the Stripology Ruler slits. The one that does work for me is Clover.”
Hi Kathy,
I did try it and I can't use it either. My hands just aren't strong enough for one thing and the other issues as well. I know many love it. Thank you so much for your review. It was honest and we really appreciate the feedback always!! I pretty much stay with the 45mm and I also like using the 28 when I need it too.
“This was a "treat your self" purchase, as I have very limited working space and go from right to left-hand
cutting. You definitely feel the weight of these but on the plus side, the weight helps reduce downward pressure when you are cutting. Very sharp blade and works well with layers and the Creative Grids 'Stripology Grid Ruler'. The case is handy and designed to protect your cutter and space for extra blades.
This would be useful for away classes and workshops. Since mine arrived they have been put to use with
many different rulers and I'm very pleased as they were purchased as a long-term working comfort investment.”
