“I ordered at the end of April which I realise is not summer truffle season, but it had absolutely ZERO flavour. Tried with a risotto and tried simply on its own, and even on its own it had no flavour at all. I'm of the opinion that Fine Food Specialists should not be selling truffles out of season if they cannot guarantee some semblance of truffle flavour in what they are selling.
I kept the truffle appropriately preserved on the day of arrival and ate it in the evening of that same day.
I shall try one more time in peak truffle season and if they're still rubbish then I'll have learnt my lesson.”
