I'm at 6850ft Altitude so I have issues with my Big Green Egg XXL. Needs a Fan for normal operation. Temp control has been rough. Fireboard removes all difficulties. 22.5 hr smoke on two pork butts perfect!!!!

I wish I got the Fireboard 2, not the Pro. My probes keep malfunctioning. Now I have to order 2 more, at twice the price.I really love my other Fireboard products.

Seems like every year I have to purchase another probe cuz the ones I have are out of warranty and have died. I think I’m on my 3rd set of probes in three years!!! Maybe there’s another brand that will work with the Fireboard controller and last longer.

I’ve owned a FireBoard for years, the probes are durable and accurate

They need to be reengineered to strengthen the both connectors. The wires keep shorting out. Don’t buy the pro model.

I like the accuracy of the probe but when you’re smoking and the bark forms around the probe they stick forcing you to twist and to free the probe. OVER TIME, this action weakens the sheath over the sensor, causing the two to separate, rendering the probe inoperable. I am on my second batch of probes in 2 years. Since the pro probes cost twice as much as the regular probes, I wish I would have not bought the Pro controller so I could use the regular probes at 1/2 the cost. I guess I could cut them out of the meat but I shouldn’t have to for the price being charged. When I contacted customer service I was told there was no warranty and I’d have to buy more. So, not very customer friendly from this respect. I have resorted to just doing one probe with my spark since all my Pro probes have broken in the same way. If I need multiple probes I have gone back to the competitive brand and have sadly shelved my Fireboard 2 Pro. The competitive brand I have is still going strong with no broken probes….
