“I bought a hook several years ago and wrapped it with an older style of fire wrap from Fire Maul. This required the wrapping and all, and then the color was applied on top with a paint you added grit to. This led to a vibrant, grippy wrap that is still doing great two years or so later. I bought a different tool just a month ago, and this has changed. The new fire wrap has no top coat; the color is included beforehand. This led to a lot of the color washing out when forming the wrap over the tool. My tool wraps are noticeably different colors, and my hook has much more grip/grit than my halligan. The wrap itself works well, but the older product was much more superior to the new.”
“Kit worked as it should wrapped two pro bars as instructions said it would. On one of the bars the compression wrap got impregnated with some resin and would peel off the fire wrap, not sure if it was user error or something that happens. All in all real happy with the product.”
“The grip is fantastic. I’ve bought many before that you put the grip on and then paint your color after. If you’re looking for red, buy that one. This wrap has the color impregnated in it and once it get wet to cure it dilutes and is now pink.”
“It worked well. The color already in it makes it a lil easer with not having to paint it. It did seem like it took a bit longer to cure but it’s not an issue. So far so good!”
