“Over the years I tried a few different models of static bars many of whom are double the price of these ones. While the expensive models are all great, they're not better than the Gornation static bar and in some aspects even inferior. Here are some noteworthy aspects that I have noticed during half a year of intense static training on this bar.
The Gornation static bar's biggest plus is the grip. It is insane. Use a bit of chalk and you're glued to the bar. No need to rechalk after every set. The grip tape is a nice plus but in my experience it's not needed since the metal is so grippy. Static bar models from other brands are often slippy and either require rechalking before every set or the use of grip tape.
Another plus is the 38mm diameter of the bar. It's the most comfortable size for front lever training that I tried so far. Classic dip bar size (40mm - 42mm) is often a bit to thick so you can't optimally transfer strength to the bar. Classic pull up bar size (32mm - 34mm) is often to thin and feels uncomfortable, especially for false grip. The Gornation bar's 38mm is the perfect middle ground.
Furthermore the height and width of the bar are simply great. The width allows you to train wide grip and archer exercises which cannot be done on smaller static bars which usually are around 1m in width. The height allows a comfortable entry into the front lever and makes skin the cat entries into back lever possible. If it were just 10 or 20cm taller you could even do full ROM L-Sit pull ups as a taller person but that's too much to ask from a static bar.
There is one negative aspect about the bar though: It has quite a bit of sideways movement which is noticable during exercises performed above the bar such as handstand and planche or explosive sideways pulling under the bar such as archer rows. It won't tip over but the wobbling can rob you of strength or balance. During regular front or back lever exercises such as holds, raises and pull ups (so any exercise below the bar where you simply move up and down or hold still) wobbling won't happen though so for most people this won't be a problem.
The last thing I want to mention are the rubber feet. They make training on any surface possible. Other static bars don't have rubber feet at all so you scratch the bar every time you train on a hard surface or the feet are slippery and thus don't fulfill their purpuse. In contrast to that the Gornation static bar can be used on every surface. I frequently use them on tiles and the bar hasn't moved a tiny bit during training even during the most explosive of front lever pull ups. I can 100% recommend this bar to every static enthusiast!”
