“We are a quarter in and our church is enjoying this curriculum. It is easy for our teachers to prepare and teach, has fun activities, engaging Bible stories and age appropriate connections. “PROS: - prepackaged physical materials. I only have a desktop inkjet, so this saves time and $ - Bible story posters and memory verse posters and stickers. Beautiful and good quality material. - Easy to read teacher friendly lessons. We previously used “Orange” and it was just too much. I literally had teachers refuse to follow lessons because it was too much to read. All are unanimous in liking this simple step by step picture layout better. - Few supplies needed. I already spent my budget on the curriculum, it’s nice that most materials needed are simple things and I can get most from the dollar store. - Downloadable content to email teachers ahead of time and make extra copies. CONS - the videos are a big swing and a miss. Kids don’t want to watch PowerPoints/picture slides. Literally the biggest turn off. This curriculum would be great if it had decent videos. But the kids can’t sit still to watch them because they’re so boring. They don’t even really tell the Bible story each week other than a 1 sentence summary. If you’re gonna do a slide show presentation, at least make it a flannel graph retelling of the story. Pictures of random things and an overly cheery narrator do no work. - sequence makes no sense. Why do we have a 4 week unit on Moses, then jump to Joseph, then jump to Jesus— then BACK to Old Testament? And why talk about Jesus’ birth in April!? This would be much more better if there was either a sense of chronology to it or if it at least followed the liturgical year. This is just random throwing spaghetti on the wall and hoping something sticks. The lessons are good, mind you- age appropriate and teacher friendly, but how can we expect kids to know the Bible if they don’t understand what happens where? - Digital Download Center doesn’t function properly. The download all button does NOT give you zip files. There are always errors when trying to download unless you go in and download each file individually. One at a time. This is extremely tedious and time consuming. I’m convinced they know but don’t fix it so you will for out money for their jump drive. - Digital access not given in emails but rather in a sticker inside the kit. What!? I ordered digital access so I could use it instantaneously. But No- we have to wait 2 weeks for the physical kit to come. It really defeats the purpose of digital access and planning ahead. Especially since the upper elementary add on you get the code in the email. Why is it so hard to give the base curriculum code in an email?! - Upper Elementary add on is a front/back page per lesson. I don’t think that enough value/worth it for the money.”
