Some of the samples read less unique to my nose (e.g. Preston), but others like Marra and Jefe are artful creations that really throw tradition to the wind. Though it's an aromatic, spicy fragrance, dappled with black pepper and rosemary, it settles into a much gentler experience by the drydown, which I hadn't expected. I had a similar experience with Jefe, which opens citrusy and bright, but then calms to a milky, warm silk on your skin.
Ultimately, while I really enjoyed the fragrances (and the lovely customer service experience), they're not quite for me-- I tend to lean towards gentler florals and woods, which I didn't quite find among the samples I received. But this doesn't mean others won't enjoy them. They are genuinely great scents. I'll definitely be back around to try Riviera when it returns!”
“I enjoy the ideal and marketing plan of letting people sample before taking a total gamble and 7 samples is a wide variety for sure. I do enjoy the JP and the Nelson, the others are pleasant but I don’t think I would purchase them. I would have liked the Primo and Palmer within the sample kit. As stated in my title I’m not a young guy anymore at 63 but I am up for new tricks….. and new ways of business, so I applaud and appreciate Guy Fox for bringing these fragrances to my attention. I will buy more in the future and you may be my go to from here on out! Ohh yes Night Cap looks very interesting as well…. look forward to its return.”
“I'm an avid fragrance shopper and user and am now a big Guy Fox fan! I had noticed Guy Fox a lot on social media and decided to give them a try finally. I took the online quiz with matched me to Grant and Primo - that really worked our well for me. I love them both. This Sample Set is a great way to figure out which scents are best for the individual. I tried all of these on over a week or so to assess fragrance, projection and longeviity. Nelson, JP and Preston are the top 3 in that order for me.. I found the others were either too top heavy citrus fragrances that don't mix well with my skin - they usually sour - OR they smelled nice but just didn't last long for me. JP and Preston are unique with the apple. I love them both. Of the two, JP is more fruity while Preston is smoothed out by Pepper and Tonka Bean. I'm going to order these soon. As with many things, fragrance is "to each his own", so give them a try and see what you think works best for you!”
