“I don't like florals at all. It has to be well-hidden or a minor note compared to the rest in my fragrances. I was hesitant to order, but the positive reviews and my love for Fairway, the spring Founder's Reserve fragrance, convinced me.
The opening is intriguing and unique, with a wonderfully fruity fig, but the allure quickly dissipates into a dominant floral that brings me to the edge of nausea. This lasts into the base, at which point it becomes tolerable, but by that point Riviera has long overstayed its welcome.
I'll give it a bit more time to grow on me, but I'm not optimistic and will likely return it. If you have a greater appreciation of florals than I do, I'd say give Riviera a shot. It's a standout fragrance otherwise.”
