“It's a lot of money, well made and, in my small workshop, quite large! The fact that the lamp head stays horizontal when moved is an advantage and the length of the head minimises point shadows. You don't have the use the clamp base...the end of the light that fits into the base is essentially a steel bar/shaft that is about 12.5mm in diameter and approx 45mm long. So if for instance, you have a workbench/surface that you don't mind drilling 12.5mm holes in, you can then simply lift the light out of one hole and reposition it in another...no further fixings necessary. In my case, my workbench has a series of 25mm diameter holes so all I've done is use some 25mm dowel with a 12.5mm central hole, fix that to the lamp shaft and now I can move the light anywhere on the bench without using the clamp base at all. Very useful especially as the light has a long reach”
