“Overall I love the monthly subscription box, about 1/4 of the sauces are pretty much crap but the other 3/4 are great so I'm fine with that. The mystery and anticipation of what I'm getting next is fun. My big complaint is they're sooooo slow getting those sauces posted on the Heatonist website, the guy updating them pushes out code about as fast as a constipated turd. It can literally be a month after the sauce hits my mailbox before I can look it up and write a review, that part sucks, A LOT... Also, because it's a total F'ing mystery how they select the monthly sauces and there is seemingly no pattern to the heat range you can go several months with really mild sauces in the 1-5 range before you get something even remotely spicy. They need a better yearly plan for what's going into future boxes so it can be balanced out better. So far I've had no duplicate sauces in the 13 months I've been a subscriber, decent variety of heat ranges, it would be nice to just eliminate all the 1-3 heat range sauces though, or give a heat range preference you can update periodically. Also, and this is another big complaint, they must have changed their heat range grading sometime about 6 months ago because everything on the website now feels like it's off by 1-2 points. A 5 used to be fairly spicy, now it's very mild, a 1-2 used to have a tiny bit of spice, now there's ZERO spice? Not sure what changed but it's different compared to 6 months ago?”

Oh no, sorry to hear that! The reason for that is that many of our subscription sauces are brand new and exclusive releases. When you're looking for the newest, most exciting sauces on the market, you can't plan more than 4 or 5 months in advance. Creativity doesn't run on a schedule, after all! Our subscribers get the first taste of small batch made bottles. Sometimes the sauce is so new, it takes additional time to produce enough to be able to list on our website. We can't sell sauce if we don't have it in stock. Hope that makes sense!

“I am happy to say that my fridge door is home to dozens of Hot Ones bottles. It's wonderful and ridiculous. I've had the subscription for a year and at the beginning of it, I only signed up for my husband because he's an enthusiast. As the months have passed, I have grown to love hot sauce as much as him! I couldn't have gained this new spicy obsession without Hot Ones. So thank you!”

“I really enjoy hot sauces. I liked most of the sauces so far. I've enjoyed the garlic hot sauces, the Turmeric Bomb was very good and I didn't think I was going to like it, the tropical hot sauce wasn't "bad" just not my thing. I tend to stay away from sauces that use extracts. 3 bottles monthly seems to fit my hot sauce "addiction" as I usually am finishing the last bottle just as the notification of the next shipment hits my inbox. I really like the service, it has me trying different sauces that I probably wouldn't try if I saw them on a shelf. Factoring an average of $10 per bottle, gas to travel to and from the grocery store, and personal time, $30+shipping monthly for 3 bottles is a good deal/offer. Plus you get to watch celebrities' reactions as they sweat it out eating the same sauces you have/have tried and personally experienced.”

“We have had our subscription for over a year now and have loved every box! There is always something for the less spicily adventurous soul and something for the spice king of the house. Each bottle us fun to learn about and delicious. We have two shelves dedicated to our sauces! Customer service is amazing and we have never had a problem with delivery. The box looks great every month!”
