“I managed to try a sample of the Apollo version of Last Dab thanks to the sampler bag of nuggets at Walmart (a product I do recommend if you want to try some of these sauces). I've been a big fan of The Last Dab in all of the Pepper X varieties, with Reduxx being my favorite. This, however, isn't really a "Last Dab" like the others. Whereas the previous versions were more of a mash, a paste of the peppers, along with some delicious seasoning, this is pretty much just the Apollo pepper in a few incarnations (including powder and distillate - extract - to bring the heat up) with a vinegar base. That means that the taste is entirely dependant on the pepper, which is not a favorite of mine. It lacks to more citrus tang of Pepper X, and not including the other ingredients that made the sauce a real seasoning, this is just... heat for the sake of heat. If you do like the Apollo pepper flavor, this will be a good sauce for you. But I would have prefered that they had kept the seasoning. I'll be keeping my orders to Last Dab XXX from here on. As a side note, because of the vinegar base, this sauce is much easier to pour than the thicker Pepper X based sauces. Which means it's too easy to overpour as well. Be careful with it.”

I’m so sorry this sauce wasn’t for you! We find the Apollo's pepper forward recipe makes it extra versatile (and a great add-on to milder sauces you want to life up a bit). Or if you'd like a suggestion for something more to your taste, send an email to ilovehotsauce@heatonist.com

“This sauce is great for kicking up the heat, with a nice lingering heat. The viscosity of the sauce very nice; thin enough to pour easily but thick enough you won't accidentally dump half the bottle out. The flavor is pretty simple, since it's all vinegar and Apollo peppers; it's not going to be the star of the show. I mostly find myself adding this one to grits to really kick up the heat.”

“bought the hot ones bag at walmart. I have done several hot wing challenges. I have had The Bomb. I have had the last dab. I even ate Lil' Nitro, possibly the hottest gummy bear at 9 million scoville. the bag was fun. we added some of our own hot sauces. we had a great ramp up. the Apollo is intense! it burns almost as hot as Lil' Nitro. it lasts more than 5 min though. thank you it's wonderful suffering.”

“I got this for my husband (who I'm pretty sure no longer has tastebuds). He ate it from a spoon and said the flavor was good, but Da Bomb was hotter. He really likes the flavor of this sauce and uses it on almost everything. The flow is good and it smells like it might kill you. Warning: this is a man who ate a Carolina Reaper, coughed twice, then calmly said "Yeah, that's pretty hot" while continuing to sip his whiskey. Do not eat off of a spoon like him, you may die.”

“I tried a spoon full to gage the flavor and it's delicious. I then soaked meat in it for 48 hours and made last dab beef jerky. 10/10 do this, last dab jerky is the best.”
