The lead length is very generous. You should never have a problem reaching vehicle to vehicle.
The volt meter is very handy to have because it lets you know the exact status of the battery without having to use an additional multimeter. The lead reversal protection stops a potential tragedy. It also sounds an alarm to advise you that the leads have been reversed.
