Hailo G60 Multi-Purpose Aluminium Scaffolding Reviews

4 Rating 2 Reviews
Purchased this bit of kit in order to install a couple of velux windows in a new extension with a pitched roof. This particular model was chosen because of the extra platform height it offered as opposed to some of the more prevalent 2m height mini scaffold towers on offer. Assembly had to be carried out in the vertical position due to confined space but found this quite easy with a step up to stand on and a helping hand to support the ladders whilst the stabiliser bars were installed. Found the connectors on the stabiliser bars a little stiff to operate so handles might help to overcome this. Climbing the scaffold and working on the platform was slightly wobbly so tied the uprights back to the rafters which made it quite stable. Getting up and down through the hatch and not getting your head bashed was a challenge so maybe some form of soft close might help. Where the platform sits on the rungs seemed a bit prone to damage so may put some hardwood inserts in the ends of the supports to strengthen them. Assembly and disassembly of the unit was straight forward and storage fairly compact. Purchased some Velcro straps to bundle the stabiliser bars together as I could see the odd one disappearing. Overall this an excellent piece of kit for DIY use especially with the flexibility of different functions but don't think it would survive the rigours of a building site which it is obviously not designed for. The only downside was the courier who delivered it. He leant it against a stack of roofing tiles on the jobsite, broke the corner of one of them and damaged the platform in the process.

Very happy with both the Hailo G60 and the delivery time. Putting the scaffold together using the supplied instructions was easy enough, but having enough space to lay it out and put it together proved slightly tricky, as it needs to be laid out horizontally to do so, and then pulled upright using the wheels to assist. Putting the platform on ..the last item..could really only be done by putting it on once vertical and therefore using a separate ladder to lift it up to the position, as it might have made the scaffold too heavy to lift up from horizontal by just me. It has really to be pulled over and laid out horizontally again to take apart, therefore, again, needs sufficient space to do so, but it was very quick to do so. I can see that it would be great for cutting some of our high hedges, but as there is a slight slope it would be v useful to have had adjustable/ screw operated legs as an add on to get the scaffold level. Are there any? It packs away fairly easily and its versatility in its various forms looks as if it will come in v handy for painting ceilings, in particular in our high hall, and clearing gutters. The connectors and swivel joints are very well designed and made it very easy to put together and take apart, and using the scaffold felt safe and easy to use, as long as you don't mind using the top of your head to push the access hatch open, and take care and time in getting through it. Overall, I am happy to recommend this set.
