Roberts Lures has been experimenting with weight designs that retain the slip/slide surface action desired, but enabled extreme distance casts. After eight months of trial and error, they ended up with the 2 1/2 oz. product. Named Whistler because it launches so fast on a typical cast from an 11 foot surf rod that it creates an audible whistle. Consider the Whistler as a part of your lure selection for those times when the fish are on that offshore bar or otherwise beyond normal casting range. The Whistler is 4 1/4 inches long and uses a Mustad # 9175 7/0 hook.
