Baby Chicks: Easter Egger Female Reviews

4.9 Rating 210 Reviews
I've grown up around chickens and have had them all my life. I've always wanted Easter Eggers and decided to give them a try through My Pet Chicken. I've had my ladies for about 3 years now and they have THE best personalities! My young son loves chickens too and has bonded with one of them he named "Coco". Coco follows us around like a puppy dog. They are all very sweet and friendly. Their egg production is steady and the eggs themselves are beautiful.

We adore our 2 new EEs. I ordered 6-week old pullets and received a snowy white EE and a hazelnut brown EE with a black splash pattern. Pearl and Hazel are gorgeous and very sweet, but VERY flighty. They are now about 13 weeks old and are just beginning to become somewhat comfortable with being handled. They still won’t come to me on their own or eat from my hand, but will come within inches which is an enormous improvement from where we started. I have a RIR, Buff Orpington, Black Australorp, and Speckled Sussex who follow me around and beg to be pet like my dogs and other animals, so this is different for me, but I am patiently waiting for them to warm up. Maybe they would have been more comfortable with me if I had got them as day-old chicks ... not sure. OR Maybe the experience of shipment and travel to me at 6 weeks old was too frightening? However, they are absolutely beautiful, smart, and extremely healthy. I’m very pleased with my experience with MPC.

MY EE's are docile, sweet and absolutely beautiful birds they don't like to be handled which is fine with me they are awesome layers of light blue and mint colored eggs!

I've always loved EEs, I was exited to get some from MyPetChicken and have not been disappointed with the colors on my girls. One is a beautiful black and white and the other is a dark mahogany color. One is more aloof and the other more friendly and brave. However one of my chicks took until about 9 weeks to be fully feathered, and has a crooked toe. Other than that she is super spunky though and a joy to have. They aren't old enough to lay eggs yet but I'm sure the eggs will be great. Thank you MyPetChicken

Fun story: A few years ago on Mom's account, she ordered her first batch of Easter Eggers. They were a joy to raise then and are a joy for me to raise now. I've only had my little ones for two days, but I know they're gonna be strong and healthy. I've got a little brown female who already steps into my hand because she loves to sleep on me (I promise, I'm not handling them much yet). It was a hoot earlier when a fly flew into the brooder box. I had a minor problem with pasty butt in one of my Easter Egger chicks, but I took care of it immediately and I'm still monitoring them and everyone seems fine. To the lady who helped me check over everything in the brooder when I called, THANK YOU. it's been five years since I took care of chicks, but it's all coming back to me. Mom still has one of the Easter Egger roosters I raised from My Pet Chicken, Hawk. He's a butthead to me but LOVES her. And he's pushing 6 years old.

Love these Easter Eggers. Sweet, intelligent, energetic and lovers of attention. All but one arrived in perfect health. The one that didn't had weak/shaky legs and ended up being a failure to thrive that had to be put down. Unfortunate but it happens sometimes. As a side note, the others were very sweet and gentle with the sick chick which I didn't expect. I was given a variety of colors (one white, one black, and several what I call "tabbies" of different shades) which is great. They're still only a few weeks old but so far they're exactly as described. Very happy with my choice.

I have had my hens for a year now and they’re all laying beautiful blue eggs! They were all very healthy upon arrival and were all darker in color except one that is now white! I haven’t ever seen a white Easter egger! Very pleased with my experience and have just placed an order for 10 female ducklings!
