Baby Chicks: Blue/Black/Splash Cochin Female Reviews

Tootsie has more personality than all the other girls. She follows me everywhere and lets me know that she is there. Never quiet. Super sweet. And she runs like a wooden pull toy which is cute to watch.

We ordered 3 chicks and received one of each color: Blue, Black, and Splash (the 3 amigos, lol). They are awesome sweet docile birds and we are extremely pleased with our purchase. Will definitely order from here again.

Ours is very sweet , calm and timid. It does seem that she it on the bottom of the pecking order though :(- even under the bantams . A very pretty bird, lays at least 3-4 eggs a week

I love these birds they are very friendly and seem to always be at the bottom of the pecking order. They also make wonderful brooders. They however much better in a contained or fenced and secured area. I had 7 of these wonderful girls and a blue cochin rooster. They are all gorgeous and one actually adopted me. I don't know how to describe it other than she was my buddy and would not go into roost at night until I came out and let her jump on my arm. She would then nibble on my shirt and rub her head against my chest or shoulder. They are sweethearts even the roosters are friendly. My next goal is to have a reinforced coop with a run set up specifically for this breed. If you ever think about getting a cochin I would say do not hesitate

Our pullet is a sweet, docile bird. She does get a little broody. She won first place and Reserve Best of Breed at the 4-H fair, she's a pretty girl!

We ordered two of females this past Spring and one came in blue the other black we are planning on showing the blue for 4-H this fair season she came out more the darker grey like the picture of the male and female together. I wish there was a way to order just the blue color it is obvious at birth what color they will be. When dealing with small amount of room to add chickens and buying for the purpose of showing it is important to know.

I got five fat, hearty chicks, which are developing into four lovely pullets and one dazzling cockerel. Two of the girls are true blue, Bluezilla and Arin, one is a deep, glossy black, The Midnight Moose, and the fourth, Lydia, is a flashy splash. The cockerel, Roy O, is also a splash, and the plumpest, roundest, mellowest young fellow ever who likes to snuggle before tucking in for the night. Arin is a lovable lap hen, Bluezilla and Moose are more independent, and Lydia is somewhere in between.
