“I have a flock of Delaware and find them to be quite versatile. They are hardy, enduring both heat and cold (in S. ID); friendly, tolerate confinement well; the young roosters (a.k.a. cockrels) have not shown aggression towards me; and the hens lay well, nice medium to large eggs all year (with supplemental light in winter set on a timer) and pullets start laying between 16 and 21 weeks in my experience.”
