“We were surprised when we received our 6 week old Lavender Orpington. We were expecting a young bird who had just got her feathers. But she looked like a miniature of her adult self. Her feathers were thick and gorgeous, her color a washed bluish grey. She was solid, healthy, and bright.
After quarantine she fit right in to our small flock. Opal is now the largest hen we own, but seems content as second in command in our mixed friendly flock. She is inquisitive, gentle and even tempered. Her feathers run dove grey to a darker hues that appear bluish lilac purple in sunlight.
Opal regularly lays large Honey-Toffee coloured eggs. To date she has displayed no signs of broodiness. Thank you My Pet Chicken for breeding such a quality bird.”
