“I received 3 Bountiful Blue Egg layers in April. 2 have started laying in last 2 weeks….blue and pink eggs! 4-5 each per week. Can’t wait for 3rd to start laying.
I am thrilled with my girls but will say eggs are noticeably smaller than what I get from my ISAs.”
Thank you for the update! It is not at all unusual for the first eggs in any breed to be smaller when they first begin to lay. Typically, the first eggs stay small for about 4 to 8 weeks. During this time, the hen’s reproductive system is still adjusting, and her body is learning to regulate egg production. Over the following weeks, the eggs gradually increase in size until they reach the standard size for the breed! Congratulations on your new birds and we hope they bring you many years of joy!
“Big and beautiful at seven weeks old, she learns from the bantam and is always the next in line to try something new. I can't wait to see her eggs. The odds are pretty good that they'll be blue.”

“This is one of my most favorite girls in the flock! She’s friendly, curious and loves to be pet. Shes my most consistent large egg layer and it’s a beautiful baby blue egg. When I collect the eggs she follows me to each nesting box. Absolutely love her. Cannot wait to add more to my flock.”

“My Super Blue has been a great addition to the flock. My hen does not go broody as I have read in some other reviews. She lays beautiful blue eggs that stand out in my egg carton! While she isn't the friendliest she isn't mean either. I plan to add another one to my flock this year.”
“Diamond gets broody and Pearl does not, both lay beautiful blue eggs on a regular basis since 5 mo. Both blue splash type of coloring. Pearl and Diamond are very active birds mid point on pecking order. Broody hens if you separate out of coop 3 days seems to do the trick. I have big dog Kennel I put them in when get broody, is predator safe steel lynks, in safe place. I feed a lot of treats and food while separated. Seems to do the trick, put them back and stop brooding. No mean broody hens, natural just protective of their eggs is all, after all is their children. Use Gloves, helps on broody hens to get eggs out from underneath them. Also give treats seems to help after getting the eggs. Just picking them up with confidence quickly, hold backwards snug so can't bite, get your eggs out and put hen in a new box seems to help too. Beautiful birds lovely size blue eggs, winter hardy and are worth it. People love seeing those blue eggs in the egg carton.”
“Cute looking bird, but she lays white eggs (not blue), and then (as someone said) she went broody...can't break her out of it. She's also the meanest of my flock.”
