“My Bielefelder "Gertie" is now 2 years old. She is a solid chicken and easily one of my favorite hens out of all the breeds I've kept over 16 years. She is large and beautiful and keeps herself clean and preened always. She is a solid, predictable layer of perfect light brown eggs. Despite her being the largest in the flock, she is near the bottom of the pecking order, but she cheerfully dodges those bitches. Her personality is sweet, friendly, and curious. I can pick up Gertie anytime, no fuss. She feels like a friend. Get a Bielefelder, you will not be disappointed!”
