“We purchased this coop last summer and it is truly beautiful. We chose white duratemp siding with white trim and a black roof - it's adorable. We chose epoxy floors (great option for cleaning out), clean out tray and the solar powered automatic door and light. The issue we have had that was never remedied is that the solar panel doesn't work to power our door/light. We have had to had string electrical out to the coop for the short term (we are building a house and will eventually plan to run electric to the coop). I contacted My Pet Chicken about this issue, and they put me in contact with the company who makes these coops (an Amish company I believe). I went back and forth with their secretary (Dawn - who was lovely but wasn't able to really help) and finally was told I needed to deal with the owner of the company - who didn't call or return my phone calls at all. This was an almost $500 dollar add on option and it wasn't working. Hence why I am leaving a review - if I were to do it again - I would absolutely NOT get the smart door/solar panel option - it was a complete waste of $500. I never was able to get a hold of the owner and My Pet Chicken did not reimburse or handle it in any way. So as a coop - it is beautiful, functional and works well for our 6 girls (I would also recommend asking to make the run bigger because while it is big enough - any amount more space during the winter months really makes a difference). But do not bother with the big up charge items - we spent $3700 on this coop and it doesn't have the working features we paid for.”
