“Our Buckeye is soon turning 8 months old. Miss Amanda is healthy, happy and spoiled! In fact she comes into the house at times to visit with not only her human family but also our 2 year old Siamese cat Salyer. I have a picture of the two "kissing" and bedding down for a nap in the dog's bed. Wanted to add them to the review but I do not think that feature is offered here.”
Christine, thank you so much for sharing about Miss Amanda! It sounds like she’s living her best (and most pampered!) life. We can just imagine how sweet she and Salyer must look cuddled up together — that’s absolutely adorable! We love hearing about the special bonds our feathered friends form with their families (furry and human alike!).
We’ll reach out to you by email to see if we can get that adorable photo — we’d love to share it!
“I’m so glad that you all hatch Buckeyes ! They are so friendly and sweet. They follow me around, and if the door is open, they come right into the house. I had one buckeye girl who lived to be 18. They are suited to Maine with their tiny combs and well-feathered bodies. If you haven tried buckeyes… please do ! Also, they’re the only American breed , that was bred initially by a woman ! From Delaware.
Definitely my favorite breed. So glad My Pet Chicken hatches them”
Wow, thank you so very much for taking the time to share this wonderful information with us! I also love the Buckeye breed and have 2 hens in my personal flock. They are such sweethearts! I think after people read your comment they will add some Buckeyes to their flocks too.
Thank you, Tracy, for taking the time to review your Buckeye chick! We are so happy to hear the babies from your order are doing well and bringing you great happiness! Any time you have any questions or wish to add to your flock, please keep us in mind! We are always happy to help!
Thank you, Margo, for taking the time to review your chick order from My Pet Chicken! While we understand how you feel, we do our best to ensure our hatcheries have the highest level of biosecurity precautions which includes not allowing pick up of the chicks. It would just be too dangerous to have customers arriving and possibly exposing our facility, unintentionally, to possible dangers. We hope you understand and always feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We are happy to help!
