Farmight Chick Heater Plate, Adjustable Height, 3 Size Options 10x10 Reviews

4.4 Rating 22 Reviews
Item arrived with a slight dent in the side which I'm hoping isn't a fire hazard. There are zero instructions, so I think it's very easy to set up but that's assuming you don't mind googling the item. We will see how it actually works for our two week old chicks who've outgrown their small brooder. Zero instructions or safety notes for an electronic item was a surprise to us.

First time using heater plate. The instructions were a bit confusing. Black plastic side goes up. I don't like this style, because I can't monitor the health of the weaker chicks. Not bad as a backup heater if you have to split your flock up. I put the healthy chicks with the heater plate, and a traditional heat lamp for sick bay.

Diana, Thank you for your feedback. After using a heat lamp, heater plates may take time to adjust to, but we assure you that it is worth it. The safety considerations because heat lamps start so many fires, the automatic temperature that doesn't need monitoring, and the cost savings over the red bulb, are just a few reasons newbies and seasoned owners alike have come to love them. We often suggest to customers that you cant the roof by making the legs different lengths. This way you can see under better and it allows for chicks of different sizes to get exactly the heat they need. Please call us if you have questions, we are here to assist you and are eager to help.

I love my pet chicken and can't wait to use the chick heater plate. I purchased it ahead of time and plan to use it next spring when I get my new chicks. I tried to purchase it last spring and it was sold out so I purchased it early. Everyone at My Pet Chicken is always knowledgeable and helpful.

This is a GREAT little heater and has been so cozy for my chicks. I have 8 - I'm sure more could fit. I like the option of tilting one side higher than the opposite, giving my "girls" the option for more or less heat as they grow. 2 weeks in and they still snuggle together under the heater for naps and nighttime. REALLY glad I have ditched the lightbulb heater for this safe, reliable heat source.

Really happy this product was recommended by MPC. Next to food and water, has to be the most important item in the brooder!

Works well, on our second week using it and it works as described. Keeps chicks warm and they are thriving. No worries about heat lamp starting a fire. Love the adjustability to adapt to growing birds.
