I love these heaters. They put out a lot of heat but don't ramp up the electric bill. We use them to heat the coop, mounting them on the wall so the chickens can't get too close to them. The small feet to stand them on the ground aren't very sturdy, but it they are standing on the ground, the chickens like to peck at the cord's red "on" light, turning them off. But I still think these are great heaters!

This heater is a perfect source of heat for our new chicks... it is not warm enough for the primary source for day old chicks, but a great supplement for them to huddle against for extra heat in our brooding area. Warm but safe to the touch. Would highly recommend

Very continent with this heater. Fits perfectly in the brooder I feel comfortable keeping it on because it is very safe to use chicks like it, huddled up to it at first but now it warms the whole brooder enough

The heater to my touch feels too warm to keep my hand next to it, though the chicks don't seem phased by it, but my biggest complaint is it just doesn't keep our brooder pen warm enough. We had to pull out our heat lamp from storage to supplement some heat because our chicks were getting too cold. I would choose a different heat plate for the brooder next time. This panel probably would be fine in a coop for older hens, but we live in SoCal, so we don't need to heat our coop.

Works perfectly for our new chicks. We will also be using it in the winter to keep eggs from freezing in the coop.

Having used heat lamps for years, I feel much more comfortable with this heat source. The chicks cuddled right up to it and accepted it immediately.
