“Our Egyptian Fayoumi is about six months old now. She isn’t laying yet, but she is absolutely beautiful. She is skittish - like most have attested to. However, we simply enjoy watching her. She is truly a special bird and has been so resilient!”
Thank you for the review of this ancient unique breed! They usually mature a bit early but it isn't unusual for a bird to delay laying for many reasons! Once they do begin to lay, they only lay about 2 per week. What they lack in eggs they make up for in grace, beauty, and independence!
We're truly sorry about your recent experience and understand the concern it has raised. At My Pet Chicken, we ensure every chick we ship is in healthy condition, ready to adapt to their new home with the proper setup. The photos indicated that the environmental conditions did not align with the guidelines we provide, which are crucial for their initial care. Our guidance is designed to equip all our customers with the knowledge to create a welcoming and suitable environment for the chicks, emphasizing the importance of a proper brooder setup. This includes a warm, dry area with appropriate bedding and access to clean water and food. This situation, while regrettable, offers an important reminder of the need for preparedness in these initial stages. It is our goal not only to provide healthy chicks but also to ensure you feel fully supported with comprehensive care information from the start. We stand ready to assist and guide our customers through every step of their poultry-keeping journey, offering resources and expert advice to ensure a positive experience. We’re here for you and committed to the well-being of every bird that leaves our care.
