Baby Chicks: Lavender Dream Easter Egger Female Reviews

4.6 Rating 34 Reviews
Now, I just received my girls, including this one, 5 days ago. This little one, now named Peanut was quite tiny and did arrive not in great shape. The other 5 were just fine. After dipping her beak in water and putting her under the brooding plate she was still quite lethargic. So (even though I've read you only have to do it once,) I helped her with the water again and left her next to the waterer. (She almost climbed in at that point) and drank heavily. By the next day....perfect. I also know this company has the best customer support. I'm grateful Peanut is a fighter. The only place I will buy my little ones from.

Thank you for sharing your experience with your Lavender Dream Easter Egger chicken chick. We know it can be a bit concerning when one arrives a little smaller or slower to start, so it is wonderful to hear Peanut is now doing well. These little ones can be surprisingly resilient, and it sounds like she has settled in nicely with the rest of your girls. We are so glad everything is on track now. Your kind words about our support truly mean a lot to us. We appreciate your trust and look forward to being part of your flock journey.

We named this sweet girl Gengar (from Pokemon) and she had a mild case of straddle leg, but with 24 hours in a brace she has been good as new for 2 weeks! She is very friendly, and jumps up daily for pets! Her cute little cheeks help us tell her apart from our Lavender orpington, but from behind they look IDENTICAL! She is a very curious chick, very confident, and doesn't pick on any of the other chicks (we have 13 in a brooder).

Thank you for sharing your experience. Gengar is such a fun name, and it sounds like she has quite the personality. We are glad to hear her straddle leg resolved so quickly with your care. It is always great to see chicks bounce back and thrive. Her friendly and curious nature sounds exactly like what many people love about this gorgeous Lavender Easter Egger. Those cute cheeks really do make them stand out, even when the coloring is similar. It sounds like she has settled in beautifully with the rest of your brooder. We appreciate you sharing and are so happy she is doing so well!

I had my Alice for 18 months until a Redtail hawk came along. She had a fantastic personality, was close to the sister chicks that she arrived with, and adapted to this spring’s new arrivals. She loved to harass the dogs, even lost a few tail feathers, and was the first to come running when I came toward the run. I miss every chicken I lose, but she was definitely special.

We are very sad to hear that you lost such a special flock friend to a predator. The Lavender Dream Easter Eggers are a very special breed and particularly affectionate to the humans who love them. We do always have our favorites and we hope that you are able to memorialize her passing in some way that will remind you of the sweet girl she was. (Our family plants a chicken loving herb or plant over the places they are buried on our property!) When you are ready, we hope that My Pet Chicken will be your choice to help select your new favorite.

I purchased this baby girl and 4 other breeds 10 weeks ago. They all arrived healthy and energetic. She is a doll baby! She's very inquisitive, social, and friendly. I'm so happy to her in my flock. I recommend the Lavender Dream to anyone who wants to get easter eggers. Thank you for coming up with such a beautiful little chicken.

Thank you so much for sharing your review! We are thrilled to hear your little flock arrived strong and full of energy, and it is wonderful to know your Lavender Dream has already become such a charming part of your group. These birds do have a way of winning people over fast and it sounds like yours came ready to make a very sweet impact. We appreciate your kind recommendation and it makes our whole team smile to know she is everything you hoped for. Thank you for letting us be part of your flock and for giving her such a sweet home!

I purchased two of these in March of 2024, and they are aggressive and mean to all the other chickens. They also eat like gluttons. They are pretty but it doesn't matter how pretty you are when your are mean.

We’re so sorry to hear that your Lavender Easter Eggers have been more antisocial than the rest of your flock. Every bird has its own personality, but it’s always frustrating when a pair ends up being a bit too assertive with their coop-mates. Most of the time, Lavender Easter Eggers grow into friendly, easygoing birds, so we’re sorry to hear yours have been the exception. We completely understand how that behavior can overshadow their beauty — even though we agree, they are a very pretty variety!

What a beautiful chicken this is. She is literally light blue. None of the pics do the color justice and she has the sweetest face. Love.

Aren't they just the sweetest and most beautiful bird in your flock? We may be a bit biased but we just can't get enough of this gorgeous Lavender Dream! We are so happy that you are so happy!

For some reason there is no option to attach any photos to the review but so far I am loving my lavender dream. She is 2 weeks old and her pretty lavender feathers are starting to come in! She was initially the most shy of that order group but she has really come out of her shell. I have another 1 week old lavender as well and notice similarly she is also the shy one of her group so curious to see if she will warm up the same. Overall very happy with both of them! Not very original but their names are lavender and opal.

Katie, it’s delightful to hear you’re enjoying your Lavender Dream Easter Eggers! Those lavender feathers are sure to be stunning as they come in, and it sounds like your older chick is really starting to find her personality. Watching shy chicks like Lavender and Opal bloom is such a joy. We can’t wait to hear more about their journeys! We would love to see both of your girls! If you'd like to email us photos, we'd be happy to attach them to your review.
