Baby Chicks: Mottled Frizzle Cochin Bantam Female Reviews

4.8 Rating 16 Reviews
I ordered my first frizzle Daisy from MPC in the summer. She is quite a hoot. She doesn't care about much other than treats, she will come full sprint from yards away and push the other girls (who are about 5x bigger than her) right out of the way to indulge on mealworms. She is sweet and minds her own business. Overall a great addition to my mixed flock. Everyone finds her very fun and amusing, especially when she runs to get treats. We have nicknamed her "The Mop".

Thank you so much for this lively description of Daisy! We actually laughed out loud imagining her pushing her way through, flopping around like a mop! Being sweet and minding her own business (until being treat time) are great qualities to have in any chicken. Thanks for sharing this absolutely "fun and amusing" review!

Our chick didn’t frizzle, but at a few weeks old her feathers are really starting to fill in. She is so beautiful and sweet!

I'm very lucky to have gotten frizzle feathers, since it's a 50/50. They popped up after a week and I'm very pleased so far with her appearance.

This is a new breed for me but I am eager to see what she grows into. Already her feathered feet have me intrigued.

I was so ready for her to NOT be frizzled because she looked almost identical to the other cochin bantam I ordered but then BAM! A week in and frizzled feathers just popped up out of nowhere. I would have loved her no matter what because she's really sweet and adventurous but what a bonus! These chicks are really lovely.

I ordered a frizzle but instead received one of these cochin bantams also she turned out all black not a single white spot of the mottled pattern I was hoping for. I would post a photo but there is no option for that. Love her all the same but disappointed to end up with one showing neither of the genetic distinctions.

We're glad to hear you love your little Cochin bantam, but we understand your disappointment in not receiving the frizzled, mottled pattern you were expecting. While genetics can sometimes produce unexpected results, we always want our customers to be happy with their chicks. If you ever have any concerns about an order, please reach out to our team—we’re happy to help! As for the mottled pattern, don’t give up hope just yet! Mottling often becomes more pronounced after each molt, so you may start to see some white feathering appear as she matures. We have sent you a private communication as well so please feel free to reach back out to us! We are always happy to do our best to help!
