OverEZ Poultry Waterer, 12 gallons Reviews

4.8 Rating 10 Reviews
This the 3rd 12 gallon I have purchased and I cannot even start to express what a game changer this has been for my flock. They all have a preferred location to drink and with 36 gallons of water, I only have to refill a few times each week!

took a bit for my chickens to figure out, but doesn't seem to grow algae like many waterers do.

Thank you for your review, Cynthia! We’re so glad to hear that your chickens are getting the hang of the OverEZ Poultry Waterer. It's great that you're not experiencing the algae issues that can be a hassle with other waterers. We appreciate your feedback and wish you and your flock all the best!

Large unit, easy fill, great distance between nipples, easily train chickens to use, however it leaks from the nipples, removed nipples added tape as there were no washers, slowed it down a bit, however the leaking has not stopped. I ended up moving the unit into an outside dirt run instead of inside the coop as I dont need a ruined floor! nice product, just dont plan on putting it anywhere you dont want excess water.

Thank you for sharing your experience—we’re glad to hear your flock took to the OverEZ Waterer quickly and that you found it easy to fill and use! We’re sorry to hear about the leaking around the nipples. As we emailed you earlier, we have contacted OverEZ to follow up with you as this is not common in these oversize waterers. That said, you made a smart move relocating the waterer to your dirt run! We actually recommend keeping both food and water outside the coop as a best practice. It helps keep bedding dry, reduces the risk of mold and ammonia buildup, and discourages pests from being attracted to their sleeping area. Thanks again for your feedback. We look forward to helping resolve this issue with you.

Hi! I just bought both the waterer and feeder. They were out of the box at the story but I see the nipples are dripping. I had a smaller watered similar to this but instead of nipples it had the cups and also has a butterfly like screw to secure the cups tube from the inside but this one I just bought doesn’t. Is that part missing? So I can go to the store and ask for it. Other that that. These products looks awesome.

Thank you for your review of this great product! The nipple waterers screw into your container so they may be easily removed, cleaned, and replaced if you need to do so after some time passes. When you are looking at your waterer and the nipples, you should view 2-3 threads showing as there is no need for them to be screwed in all the way. They would not come with the butterfly-like nut which accompanies the cups. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to our Flock Care Specialists by email, phone or even live chat as we are always happy to help!

I’m still giving the 5 stars, because it has still cut down on my time having to refill the old waterers that had debris in the area the water fills up in, because chickens are gonna scratch debris in it everyday, no mater where I put it. But I’m confused to why it states in the description that the water will fill up in the bowls. Can I order the bowls to go on this waterer? Every day I go out there’s a wet area under the nipples. Also is the lid supposed to snap on? Mine doesn’t, and everyday it has been knocked off, on my feeder as well, so far I haven’t had any mice in the feeder but I know soon they will show up. I’m not sure if my goats are knocking the lids off or the chickens, they’re always hopping up on things, and I noticed just how easily the lids come off of both, I do wish they snapped on, I’ve tried to make sure I’m not overlooking something to make sure the lids don’t snap on somehow, but they don’t, on the feeder or waterer. I just worry now about my goats getting in the feeder and eating it, so far I’ve just put enough feed so the chickens can get to it in the 3 openings for them. But I can’t fill the feeder up until I figure out a way to secure the lid. Where can I find the cups for the waterer? And is there a way to secure the lids??

We appreciate your 5 Star review for the OverEZ Poultry Waterer though it sounds like you may have run into some issues with it. We actually suggest keeping the water nipples as the cups tend to get dirty over time and will freeze in the winter. In fact, many flock keepers will switch out the cups in the colder months to the nipple waterers to avoid this issue. The nipple waterers are made so that the water fills the lip. One way to encourage your birds to use this is to remove all other water options from your birds' area in the evening after you have secured them for the evening. When you let them out in the morning, have the OverEZ Poultry Waterer as the only option. The birds will be thirsty and not so picky about where they get their water from. When you do this, try this little trick: Put a dab of cream cheese on the silver pins of the water nipples which can spark natural curiosity. The birds will peck at it and learn to get their water. Usually once one bird figures it out, the rest will follow. Let us know if these suggestions work for you and your flock. The cover of the waterer and feeder are designed to just sit on top of the base. If your birds - or goats :-) keep knocking it off, you could use a velcro strap to go over the top of the lid to secure it. Another option to try is to use large rubber bands or add some thin rubberized gasket material over the lip of the container so the lid will fit more securely. We hope this helps a bit but please let us know if we can answer any other questions or provide more suggestions. We want our customers to be happy and will be there for you!

We received this waterer and it is wonderful! Having a larger capacity of water is saving us many additional trips to the run with the hose! It does need to be propped up, in my opinion, so that the birds can more easily reach the nipples. They took a few walks around and after seeing one of the hens drink, they all were excited to use it! This is going to be a game changer for Summer time! Nice BIG opening for chunks of ice!
