Thank you for your feedback — we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. You’re right that while the waterer holds 5 gallons, not all of that is accessible to the chickens due to the height of the nipples.
The nipples are placed where they are to maintain the structural integrity of the container — placing them lower could risk weakening the plastic over time. That said, having that last gallon in the bottom can actually be helpful when it's time to change the water, as it allows for an easy rinse to keep things clean.
