“Max, my little baby roo, is just about as sweet and beautiful as anyone could hope for. He is 3 weeks old now and just went through a growth spurt and is catching up with the girls. I have to say his is the most evolving personality of all the babies. At first he was pushed around by the others, especially the Welsummer which bullied him a bit. Although he is still quite a bit smaller than her, he now stands up for himself and has gained her respect. He now runs the show and is displaying some protective "corralling" behavior and even intervenes when the girls squabble!”
It definitely sounds like the pecking order is being established between your birds! It can be difficult especially when you have more than one rooster but hopefullly our Flock Care Specialist's advice on allowing them to free range for some time during the day then keeping them in their own coops/runs until the girls get used to them will help. If you have any further questions or concerns, always feel free to reach out to us. We are happy to do our best to help!
