Baby Chicks: Blue Splash Ameraucana Female Reviews

4.7 Rating 35 Reviews
I have 4 Splash Ameraucanas in one of my orders that are about 4 weeks old now, and their spots are starting to come in. They're very pretty and while initially smaller than the rest all 4 hit a serious growth spurt the last week and are now outpacing everyone else. Id say temperament wise theyre nice in the middle of the road! Not a spazz like my exchequer leghorn and not a total snuggle bug like my olive eggers. Very happy with them, their names are Checkers and then Rose, Dorothy and Blanche after the golden girls lol excited to see their eggs!

Sasha, the blue splash ameraucana, is gorgeous. Her coloration at 3 weeks is stunning and her eyes are so beautiful, alert and expressive. She loves to fly around the (very large) brooder and perches as high as she can wherever she can! A bit easily excitable and prone to caving into "drama", but is also sweet and surprisingly easy to handle.

Out of my 9 super cute chatty and curious girls, Uma my one and only Blue Splash Ameraucana is the friendliest one and always on my shoulder when I enter the coop. She is truly delightful

I am amazed at the friendliness of this breed. My chicks are 6 weeks old now but from the start fairly willing to interact with people. When I visit they perch all over me, and I have not really introduced them to treats yet either. The plumage is gorgeous. I am loving them!

Love my Splash they're beautiful, but two out of the three "females" I ordered have started crowing and turned out to be roosters. I'm so sad because I have to rehome them.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your Blue Splash Ameraucanas. We’re so glad you love how beautiful they are! However, we're sorry to hear that two of your birds started crowing and had to be rehomed. While crowing can be a strong indicator of a rooster, it’s not always a guarantee, especially in young birds, as hens can sometimes crow too. Our vent sexing team does their best to determine sex before shipping, using subtle visual cues that aren’t always easy to spot - especially in day-old chicks. While our accuracy rate is around 95%, occasional errors can still occur, which is why we offer a sexing guarantee in the event of a confirmed mistake. We appreciate you choosing My Pet Chicken, and we’re always here to support you if you have any questions or concerns down the line.
