“I bought this feeder to solve two problems I was having:
--It will feed my wild bird seed even when I am not home to fill a feeder, so I can take care of the birds while I'm out of town.
--I can estimate how much seed the birds will eat in a day and set the dispenser to accommodate that. This leaves little or no seed in the tray to attract rodents overnight. With my previous open port tube feeder, mice were able to gain access to the ports and were feasting at night.
I love this feeder--it holds a substantial amount of seed, keeping it clean and dry. It is easy to program, and if the birds' needs go up (i.e. cold weather) you can dispense extra.”
