“These are definitely walking trousers. They are light weight, comfortable but , unusually in my experience, genuinely waterproof. Paired with a traditional waterproof coat, I was completely dry after an hour in moderately heavy rain. I suspect they will also live up to the promise of cheating cold winds. Criticisms are minor. First, these are not a warm pair of trousers to put on. The lining is a sateen finish and perhaps cotton or a warmer synthetic material would have been preferable. Under modest exertion you’ll probably warm up sufficiently. If not, wear some thermals. The pockets are also relatively shallow and the back pockets would accommodate a card or banknote only. Frankly I’d sacrifice them for more generous thigh pockets which are ok for a medium-sized phone but no more. Still, these are good, technical walking trousers that are well made, at a fair price and backed by excellent service.”
