It was difficult to tell from the images on the website what exactly the jacket was like. Heres some things not mentioned in the description.
The inside is a thick shiny plastic coating which makes me wonder how breathable this will prove to be.
The coat is quite thick and stiff, so that it kinda stands away from your body making me look a lot fatter than i actually am! I think I was expecting something with a softer feel, more like a fabric based outdoor coat.
Sleeves are long and come half way down my fingers. So need to use velcro wrist adjusters otherwise the cuffs get filled with compost or soil when planting, and then because of the stiffness of the material, the sleeves bellow up, making you look like some kind of inflated mannequin.
Zip is two way which is great as the coat is lovely and long, but if you do a lot of bending and kneeling you can unzip from the bottom to give more flexibility.
Pockets are lovely and deep. No internal pockets which means I need to remember to zip up pockets to protect phone/notebook etc from the relentless rain. Would have preferred an internal pocket for my phone.
Hood is great. Not quite large enough for ear defenders, but if its raining that hard I won't usually be using the brushcutter/chipper.
I work outdoors all day everyday in horticulture, as long as this jacket proves as waterproof and breathable as it promises, I'm really not bothered what I look like.”
