“It smells of chemicals and it shows on the pack hydrogen peroxide and phenylenediamines are two of the ingredients. As far as i am aware para/phenylenediamines often referred to as PPD is a banned substance and it is not used in any hair colour dye.”

Hi Ann, thank you for your review. We have already been in touch with you by email but we have not heard back from you after our last response to you. PPD (or similar ingredients like PTD and TDS) are the pigments which are needed to make any permanent hair colour perform as expected. PPD is not a banned substance and is used in all permanent hair dyes as it is unfortunately not currently possible to formulate a truly permanent hair colour without including at least one of these pigments. However, our Permanent colours contain an absolutely minimal amount of PPD. Through all of our research and testing, we’ve come to find that using extremely low levels of PPD is better than using higher levels of the alternatives, such as PTD and TDS which all come with similar warnings and characteristics.
