White Tie (Evening Tails) Trousers 34 Reviews

5 Rating 1 Reviews
At long last, my White Tie ensemble from Oliver Brown is complete! And combined with my collarless evening shirt, detachable collar and sized bow tie from Darcy Clothing it’s a look I’m beyond impressed. A touch of modernism with a traditional Edwardian/1920s look is something I’d dreamed of building for a while. Out of the three components, I think this is the one I have almost no issues with. These trousers must be the most unique pair I’ve ever owned. They’re the first and only pair I own to have a fishtail back and double galons: a unique pair of trousers for such a rare and unique look that I hope will survive into the future. I know that some people say simply go for single galon trousers for White Tie, (I myself have done that because the other retailers only sell such trousers), but a double galon truly makes White Tie stand out over Black Tie. Ordering both the tailcoat and trousers separately, the barathea cloth perfectly matches. The two components look as if I had bought them both together (even though I hadn’t). The hemming is very well done, almost as if they were originally manufactured before reaching the retailer, and the length is perfect. I chose 34’ inside leg as I thought 35’ (the standard Extra Long Length) was a little long on some of my older trousers. When held up with suspenders, they look the perfect length. The rise of the waistband is also just about right, the base of my waistcoat completely covers it. To top it off, the waist fits very well. So, overall these trousers are the single component that I have had the least issues with, and I’m proud that my newest White Tie ensemble is now complete.
