“The second time I used this, it slipped and left a mark on my aluminum sprocket that I was trying to remove. I would expect that there would be less risk of damage on steel sprockets, but I won't use it again on my Gates CDX sprockets. The heavy duty strap wrench works well and probably won't damage the teeth.”
