“I initially had my eyes on the single-sided version but thank goodness I chose the double! I may be a one-person repair shop, but the second side holds forks perfect and it is ideal for the walk-in customer with shifting issues or a flat. The finish could have been better as all the weld spatter was not cleaned before chroming, leaving a prickly surface. I insist on silky smooth, so I refinished it to pass the touch-test even if it is no longer super shiny. I also did not like how the bike clamps could fall out when not locked from rotation, despite seeming to have a design allowing an internal lock. I fabricated a top-mounting plate out of an old heavy-wall copper pipe ("bulldog brand" pipe circa late 1800's) for the table-mounted tool holder that came with my MK-14 and mounted it with two precisely-located brass screws cut to the perfect length to lock the bike clamps into the stand without inhibiting rotation. Works flawless :) Smoothed out the finish on the cast-aluminum tray and I am one unbelievably-happy camper!! Have had an 80-lb cargo bike on one side with a 50-lb ebike on the other while swinging the thing around with no issues at all. (Interesting note: the photo posted shows a Schwinn Varsity drop-tube whose frame is almost entirey a single casting from solid steel! Chicago-manufactured 100% original garage-find brought in by a customer for a tune-up at heretherebike)”
