“The replacement works fine. But like other users of the CM-25 I do not understand why Park Tool does not offer replacements for the sponges an pads separately. As long as PT does not offer these parts as a seapare replacement items I cannot recommend buying the CM-25.”

“I am with the other reviewer regarding sponges and pads. THEY DONT LAST VERY LONG. That means that the owner of a cm-25 is stuck with a $22.00 Replacement cartridge. The ideal situation for this tool is selling a bag of sponge/pad for a lot less money and stop wasting money on plastic and brushes. Environmentally doesn't make sense. Please make this an option Park. On the plus side-It cleans your chain.”

“The related cleaning unit (Park Professional Chain Scrubber) works very well but there's a problem. I'd expect the internal brushes, sponges, and pads to need periodic replacement The problem is that what wears out very, very, rapidly isn't the brushes or the cartridge that holds the brushes. Instead, it's the cartridge's sponges and wicking pads, especially the sponges. I've had my unit only a few months and the sponges have already broken in half and need replacement. The pads look like they'll be going soon too. So, to replace the sponges and pads, I have to purchase a whole brush cartridge. Based on the short lives of the sponges and pads, this could rapidly become very expensive. Park should sell the sponges and pads separately, maybe in cartons containing several units. I don't mind having to replace them every few months. I'd expect that the sponges and pads would cost considerably less than the cost of a replacement brush cartridge. Alternatively, Park needs to develop sponges and pads that last considerably longer than their current models. Otherwise, the CM-25 seems very well made. It's much sturdier than Park's plastic (Cyclone) chain cleaner, the chain cleaner I previously used. It's does a great job of cleaning the chain. Hope that Park will address the sponge and pad issue.”

“I’ll give it five stars based on the one in my cleaner now. I bought this with several other items knowing I’ll be replacing my current one. Our household has 8 bikes I maintain so items like this don’t last very long.”
